The Pastoral Search Committee has been elected by the congregation to help guide the search for our next senior pastor. This page will serve as a central place for updates, resources, and important documents related to the pastoral search process. We encourage the congregation to stay informed and continue praying for wisdom, unity, and the Lord’s provision.
August 8, 2026 Update
Candidate Evaluation Underway
The priority application period for SBRPC’s Senior Pastor search has now concluded, and the Pastoral Search Committee is actively reviewing and evaluating the candidates who submitted materials during this initial period.
We are grateful for those who have prayerfully considered this opportunity and for the many people who have helped connect us with potential candidates. The committee has now begun the next stage of the search process, which includes evaluating candidate materials and beginning conversations with those who appear to be a strong potential fit for SBRPC.
Prospective candidates are still welcome to apply (see instructions below). Applications received from this point forward will be retained and considered after the committee has completed its evaluation of the initial group of candidates.
We ask the congregation to continue praying for wisdom, discernment, unity, and the Lord’s clear direction as we move through this important stage of the search.
June 8, 2026 Update
Pastoral Candidate Packet
The SBRPC Pastoral Search Committee has prepared a Pastoral Candidate Packet to help prospective candidates, members, and ministry partners better understand our church, our story, our city, and the kind of pastor we are prayerfully seeking for this next season of ministry.
The packet includes an overview of SBRPC’s history, congregation, ministry life, leadership structure, financial snapshot, hopes for the future, and pastoral profile. It is intended to be read as both an introduction to who we are and a guide to the specific needs, opportunities, and competencies we believe are important for our next Senior Pastor.
As you read the packet, we encourage you to consider the full picture of our church: the Lord’s faithfulness through seasons of growth and discernment, the opportunities before us in South Baton Rouge and at LSU, and our desire to be formed more deeply through God’s Word, community, and mission. We are grateful for those who will review this packet prayerfully, share it with qualified candidates, or help connect us with men who may be well-suited to shepherd SBRPC.
